About Martin Vicker

Martin Vicker is a highly-experienced designer of furniture and spaces. For 15 years, he was co-owner of Lief Design, leading the team to create innovative, high-fashion interiors for shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, nightclubs and even the odd cinema or spa. Based in Nottingham, the company helped shape the city’s music scene with its engaging and original designs for clubs and venues including the iconic Bomb, which featured in the definitive book Bar and Club Design by Bethan Ryder, as well as other publications.

In 2010, Martin swapped the speedy pace of life at his inner city design studio for a more considered approach to life on a small-holding in Spain. He is still very much the designer, focusing mostly on furniture for international clients, while bringing his expertise to landscape and architectural projects closer to home.

A place where ideas grow

“In my experience no environment is more inspiring than the natural world. A greater understanding of design comes from a more profound understanding of nature. Being semi self-sufficient and directly connected to the landscape that I tend and the food that I eat, has been - and continues to be - a great adventure.”
